We want everyone in Nebraska – big and small – to help keep our waters clean, our fish healthy and our environment safe. You can do your part by learning which materials should never be put down a storm drain. That way, you can remind others that whatever we put down that drain will end up in our rivers and lakes.

The NDEQ and the EPA have provided guidelines and tips for proper elimination of pollutants from construction sites. Construction sites of one acre or more must of a Construction Stormwater Permit from the NDEQ.

Water Education For Tomorrow

Scottsbluff held a Water Education for Tomorrow (WET) Festival in October 2010. They had 290 Fifth graders over two days. The group showed the Enviroscape presentation, played Stormwater Jeopardy, learned how to clean up oil spills, and built rain barrels. Here are a few photos from the festival.

Billboard Campaign

Kearney and Grand Island has started a new campaign to promote keeping water clean. Grand Island has put together a series of billboards to promote in their town, and Kearney has displayed their image on both billboards and their street sweepers.
